The University of Michigan, working in collaboration with the Google Books Project, has digitized its collection of NASA Tech Briefs. These publications, which began in the 1960’s, were a way for NASA to report relevant technical advances that industry might find useful. U Michigan’s collection begins in 1963 and runs up to 1975. Reports that are available are in three formats: PDF, image, and text. Note: the PDF files have sections blocked out. I recommend using the image function to view them or using the save function within the PDF plugin window to download the brief.
The UMich collection is available at: http://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/002138236
Also note that there are some missing issues in the University collection.
You can view many current NASA tech briefs at the main NASA Tech Briefs site. (URL: ww.techbriefs.com) If you want to keep up with cool new products that are being developed by NASA (in collaboration with industry), this is a good site to keep tabs on. Archive goes back to 2008 and registration is free. Take a look at their “Products of the Month” page.
