Paper Engineering

Paper Calculator v2.0

The Environmental Defense Fund has developed a free online tool that you can use to calculate the environmental effects of different types of papers.  This tool is called the Paper Calculator v2.0 and is available at the two following URLs:

http://www.edf.org/papercalculator/

http://www.papercalculator.org

You can use this resource to compare different grades of paper, generating a report of total amount of wood and energy used, and total amount of greenhouse gases, wastewater and solid waste generated.  Reports may be exported to Excel, emailed or generated in a PDF.
