Information Literacy lecture – Thursday October 4th
This Thursday evening, I will be giving a lecture on “Information Literacy for Engineers” from 6:30-7:30pm in Lecture Room 3226 Kohrmann Hall, on the Main Campus of WMU. Topics covered will include definitions of information literacy, why it is necessary, where information fits in the engineering design process, and the types of engineering information sources that are out there. I hope you will either let your students know about this (if you are a faculty member) or stop by (if you are a student). This lecture is part of the College of Engineering program’s STEP lectures for first-year engineering students.
Information Fluency Lecture: Monday, Feb.26th, 4:30-5:30pm
This coming Monday evening, I will be giving a lecture on “Information Fluency for Engineers” at the Parkview Campus of WMU’s College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The lecture will be in Room D-115. I invite you all to stop by and hear me talk about Wikipedia, peer-review, Boston’s Big Dig, and lifelong learning. Bring your questions, and I’ll be happy to address them afterwards!
