Tappi Journal access at Waldo

Waldo Library does have a current subscription to TAPPI Journal.  First, TAPPI only prints one print volume of the journal, which comes out at the end of the year.  So we won’t receive the 2009 volume until early 2010, as a print volume.

As far as the online version of this journal is concerned, we do not have access to it through the library’s website.  Instead, we have (due to Tappi membership rules) a username and password which ONLY I (as the engineering librarian) have access to.  So if WMU students or faculty need copies of articles from this journal, they have two options:

1) Older issues – we have print copies of these (with title changes)  in the Lower Level stacks of Waldo:

  • Tappi and Tappi Journal 1949 – Aug.2001 – Call number: TS 1080 .T3
  • Solutions! Sept. 2001-July 2006 – Call number: TS 1080 .T3

2) More current issues 2006 to the present (until we begin receiving the bound end-year volumes) – Students need to contact me at the Science Reference department for individual articles.

Please pass this information on to your undergraduate and graduate students. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at edward dot eckel at wmich dot edu (387-5140).

Measure of Man and Woman – revised 2002 edition in Waldo

Waldo Library has received the updated edition of the Measure of Man and Woman: Human Factors in Design reference book. This book is an essential reference source of anthropometric data for furniture, safety, computer interface, and vehicular design.  This book is a useful source for courses at CEAS like IME 3420 Ergonomics and Design and IME6420 – Ergonomics and Occupational Biomechanics.

This book will be located at the Science Reference desk on the Lower Level of Waldo Library, call number TA 166 .M393 2002 SciRef. Please let your TAs and students know about this, so they know where to go to get this material.
